Now and again we drop on a gem who, often for personal reasons, wants a move. Woodrow is such a gem as was Hignett and Glavin. The difference is Hignett and Glavin played in good teams and the wages we paid were closer to other clubs. Woodrow will not want to spend the prime of his football career at Barnsley on relatively sh1t wages towing in the Third Division or bottom end Championship.

We dropped on with Woodrow and I can't see anyone of his quality coming here anytime soon.

I think Malik Wilkes will be Woodrow's replacement. He scored 16 goals for Doncaster in League 1 the season we were promoted. That's why we signed him. I wouldn't be surprised if he's the main man in League 1 for us next season.

Money talks. I think he might have to start liking him if we get a bid in the region of £8-10 million for Woodrow.

I'm no fan of these owner but I've heard we paid seven figure sums for Woodrow, Wilks, Thomas, Halme and Schmidt.

I'm no fan of these owners either.

I don't get it. Just a few years ago fans were saying during years of austerity under Cryne be thankful we've got a club and be grateful we've paid £50 quid for Chris Dagnall. Now fans are avin' a go that these new owners are spending money on players.

Fair enough they might not be the right players but that isn't the point. You can't have it all ways.
