Feeling optimistic about this one, all we need is a bit of improved finishing from Friday's performance. Wolves 2 Espanyol 1 Jimenez, I'd love to predict three but VAR...
Wolves welcome Espanyol to Molineux for our first continental football since early December. We coasted to second in our group and get to face the Group H winners from Spain. Espanyol currently sit in 20th in La Liga, which is a big underachievement for them. However, since hiring their current manager in late December, they are 2-3-1 in league play - with draws against Barcelona, Bilbao and Sevilla and a win against Villareal. They looked left for dead before their manager was hired and now have a chance to survive. They had always been doing better in Europa League than they were in their domestic competition, but this match is much tougher than it looked when the draw was first made. However, Wolves should still win at home. Espanyol have two players that have done very well in Europa League but contributed next to nothing in domestic play - Facundo Ferreyra and Matías Vargas have 12 goals in Europa League combined and only 1 in La Liga. Victor Campuzano has 5 goals in Europa League.

This team are sitting rock bottom of La Liga, if we cannot beat them comprehensively there is something amiss.
3-0 Wanderers, Jota.
It looks like being a very cold night, with temperatures at zero. But after the rain we had earlier today that won't be too bad.
Abbo, I'm with you on this one .....
