    Cambridge players needed

I shall be attending the United Carlisle game a week Saturday. I have been banging on about wanting a winning team, so how can I not.

As with all learning, once it happens, things become easy. You can have a state of the art sound studio, or the best orchestra, but it still takes someone to create " On earth as it is in Heaven, " by Morricone, O mio Babbino Caro" or even China in my Hand by Tpau.

Without someone to bring it together its all junk. Is it Bonner.? It looks like it to me.

Anyway, on the Carlisle board is Predictocomp. Cambridge players are needed to take on the northern yokels. Cambridge is the home of football, and we need to show it.

All you need to do is predict the outcome of 15 fixtures, a point for a correct prediction, three for a correct score. There is fifty quid for the winner. You can contribute if you want to.

We can have an extra prize for the top 3 Carlisle and Cambridge players, by adding up the points. Its too late for this season, but join up anyway for next.

All are indeed welcome Frank. Sorry it took me so long to post, but I’ve been swimming for the last three days.

Oh, and Cambridge will walk it.

The land is sodden; water is pouring off onto the roads. Roads then become rivers, dragging gravel which causes damage to everything it encounters. Road surfaces, walls, hedges, all are in worse repair than before. The rivers are all out of their banks at some point. The Derwent in Cockermouth was lapping at the edge of the park yesterday so I’m relieved that last night’s high winds brought little rain. The game at Brunton Park today will feature 50 mph winds blowing from one end to the other. The game will be won by whichever goalkeeper scores the most.

Anglia is a bit muddy, but that's about it. When the weather is coming in from the atlantic, no matter how bad, it dissipates somewhere over the midlands, only bits make it this far.

Cambridgeshire is in a dip apparently, ocean winds from the west or east pass over, making cambs dry. In summer Ely has the most sun in the UK, droughts are common. One of the peculiar weather trends is for the sky to darken, as if to rain, but nothing happens. I used to notice this as a child but took no notice. When the weather comes in from the east, we do get some pay back.

Its cold, very cold. Looking outside its dry, unlike yourselves. Considering Ely average temp in summer is 73 degrees you must be cursing, its only 65 in cumbria. Can I send you a brolly?, I wont because they have a tendency to turn inside out.

Its like living in Majorca compared to the wild windswept norf.
