How does SD do it?

Today I witnessed a truly great Burnley team rip the shoite out a fellow EPL team.

How SD has taken this team away from the New Year's Day debacle is way beyond me!

Forget the VAR controversies, we could and should have won this game today by 7 or 8.

We were that good, Wood and Barnes are going to have to take a long lie down.

FFS SD, sort Hendrick's contract out? He was outstanding again today.

With the team we have and the money we spend,he's got to be a Messiah.. Hail Sean a Dyche and his team .

It really is extraordinary.

You would have thought a manager has had his day long before 7 years are up having to basically get up the same squad each year (give or take).

But tell me about Viagra (Ha) was he always a happening because he never got a look in?

Maybe desperation unearths players that managers think are not good enough but have no choice but to play when all else is denied them.

And that makes SD little less a Messiah and just a tad more lucky.

Two games and two goals for Vydra that are way beyond the skill set of either Wood and Barnes. The options we now have up top and how we can play are now beggaring belief.

Credit to Vydra for not "Doing a Gibson" and credit to Dyche and Woan for keeping him fit enough to perform once his chance came along...

Perhaps Sean knows exactly what he is doing? Barnes and Wood have proved to be an awesome front two and it would have been daft to have dropped them.

But now JRod and Vydra have proved that we have strength in depth and our options are terrific.

Three points off a Champions League place. That is mindblowing for Burnley, the smallest town ever to have a Prem league team.

But there will still be some fans who are not happy.

I’m really glad it’s happend as it has but come on 59 and BT Vydra wouldn’t have been here if we’d had fit forwards a month ago.

So in my opinion for what it’s worth , Dyche has been lucky for it all to fall into place as it has done.

For me as per my previous posts Vydra deserved a chance to show if he could cut it.

The surprising thing for me is that it forced Dyche into trying to play to the strengths of two very different forwards to his normal comfort zone , and watching it - it turns out we can supply balls to forwards into the channels when we have movement from Vydra and Rodriguez ( a very different proposition for visiting centre backs and full backs ).

If you have me a choice of which I’d prefer to watch I’d choose yesterday’s line up - far more entertaining- but at least we have the options now to mix it up .

The other thing blatantly obvious to me as previous posts as well is McNeil is far more effective centrally , he comes alive and demands the ball to influence the game , where out wide he’s too isolated Imo anyway.

This bit is spot on army, SD being "lucky", I'm not so sure!

Hmm, I've just watched the 30 minutes highlights on Sky, and although we were running a demoralised Bournemouth team ragged in the last half hour or so, I didn't see the total destruction and domination of Bournemouth I'd been expecting from reading your comments BT.

We kept a clean sheet, but it'd be more accurate to say VAR got us a clean sheet, Bournemouth 'scored' twice, our defence was helpless to prevent either of them, but both were disallowed by VAR on technicalities. The ball hit Billing's arm/shoulder, so what, it made no difference to anything, and our defence was all at sea for their 'second', but there was a pen awarded at the other end so we got away with that one as well, and both Mee and Pope got away with shocking defending for that one as well. Our defence was all over the place in the first half, Bournemouth could easily have scored four by half-time and we could have had no complaints. Mee was shocking, he normally throws one in per game, but I counted four in just the highlights I've seen, it might have been a clean sheet but there's plenty for our defence coaches to work on Monday morning.

Of course if VAR goes our way that's not our problem, and we took full advantage, and ran out easy winners in the end, but it seemed to me that for an hour the game was in the balance and the 1-1 to 2-0 killed Bournemouth off, but I wasn't there, that's just from the reports and 30 minutes highlights, you were there BT, would you agree with that ?
