O/T:- The Pride of Hackney to stand down

Has decided to quit the shadow cabinet rather than get booted out when 'Charisma' Starmer gets in. I will miss our Dianne and her pearls of wisdom as she will no doubt miss her free TV season ticket and the regular £700 appearance fees - what a trouper! ............ Mind you, with her lad shortly to appear before the Beak it's also understandable she wants a rest from her high powered front bench job.

I’m no great fan of Abbot, but to my knowledge she’s never been sacked for running back channels to a foreign government and then lying to the Prime Minister about it. Neither has she said she wants to get 8m ‘economically inactive’ people to do the work of the EU nationals she wants to kick out. Nor has she introduced immigration rules that would see her own parents deported.

The actual Home Secretary has done all those things. No comment on her Mr Serious?

    £700 - just terrible.

Who was the top earner last year on top of MP salary? Boris Johnson with £800k plus!

I don't like Abbott and am glad she has gone, but let's keep it in perspective

Boris has royalties from at least 24 books in print , so it might not be all that surprising. I don't suppose many of them are all that great, but they do produce a substantial income . To the best of my knowledge , I don't think Diane writes ( books I mean)

    Whooooosh!

This can only be bad news for the Tories and good news for Labour. Although Diane Abbott isn't as bad as she's been painted, she has scored far too many own goals to be taken seriously.

Not really ........ just a very attractive lady, well spoken with poise and class. Above all will drain the swamp of the infestations in our society and bring a little respect back for the law of the land. If you saw her in parliament yesterday (TV channel) she gave a masterclass in swatting aside the interruptions during her speech. But as legs77 says (no doubt a socialist) this lady is stupid so I bow to his superior logical opinion.

Well of course you're correct EP but do you think that Kier Stumour can really get the Red Brigade back into power within the next 20 years should he get to lead them?
