The Rabbi, Yitzhak Yosef's, was talking about the Jews that went into Africa. Speaking the Cu****e language. They are spoken primarily in the Horn of Africa (Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia), as well as the Nile Valley (Sudan and Egypt), and parts of the African Great Lakes region (Tanzania and Kenya, comprising about 40 languages ). Being Cu****es and brown skin ,they are termed ''cushi', ( and is used for people with a brown skin, not black!) The Rabbi speaks as a Sephardic Jew,and its hard to understand his language, his words are not clear. For me they are 1000 yrs, or more behind the present era. The issues that truly concern Haredim are more about stipends for yeshiva students, exempting their own from military service, kosher rules or Sabbath observance. Haredi politicians will make deals with secular parties in order to protect the interests of their constituency.

I would not bother too much about the crazy religious, they speak to the dumb amongst us.
But why do they seem to have much sway on the present government. In the past they did not have so much power? After the voting has finished the party with most votes gets to form a government. Politics is a dirty business we know. What the Labour or the Likud party have done is to go to the religious block and ask for their votes, but it comes with a price In the last elections, for the past 10 years, Netanyahu has been able to offer ultra-Orthodox communities billions of shekels for their institutions in exchange for their remaining a “safe” coalition partner keeping his government intact.

The ultra-Orthodox, or Haredim (Hebrew for “those who tremble at His word”), make up about 9% of Israel’s population, but their political power reaches far beyond their numbers. Traditionally, Haredim will vote as a bloc according to directives of their chief rabbis.

Through more access to Internet news, young religious (Haredi) voters are increasingly aware of their civic responsibility and many cast their ballots for Netanyahu’s Likud party in the last election, rather than vote for one of their own Haredi factions. Young ultra-Orthodox Jews are more willing to vote independently of their rabbi’s mandate, and in the last election, according to estimates, a full 30 percent of young voters did not follow their rabbi’s request to vote for a Haredi party. A trend, that if it continues, will likely begin to weaken the power of religion on Israeli politics.

circumcised or not you mean ? - BT.....I dont know, am not privy to the slimy dicks privates, you'd need to ask some of the Women who had consensual fornication with him - or perhaps, nonconsensualy even - but as thats down to them just "saying" it was - then - how could we really believe their testament on foreskin accuracy....but hey, if the courts dont care - it's guilt by accusation etc - then I guess that means they're right..... !

Wrong tack Norder, I was asking if the Chief Rabbi, Yitzhak Yosefalan who proclaimed black Africans are "monkeys" is actually Jewish?

Unusual in my experience for Jews to denounce people just because of their skin pigmentation.

For the record, I personally think Weinstein fell victim to a contemporary version of the "Salem Witch Hunt".

    Mee Too# movement my arse!

Epstein fell into the same category. Schadenfreude at its finest!

Great topic to wind up the "Everyone's anti-Semitic but me brigade" up though!

Good grief BT. Off you go again by saying ''A person's identity makes them what they are!''
and give examples ,rich or poor, Jew or Muslim. Today someone is rich ,tomorrow they can be poor ,or vise versa ? They can be labeled today a Christian and tomorrow convert to some other religion? A person is who he is, not by us sticking labels on him! ( rich or poor, Jew or Muslim). One day you are happy another time sad. Then are you a happy person or a sad person? So those examples you give is what establishes, who you are? So who are you ? You know all your life you have existed ,and you do not know yet who you are??

Forgive me if I'm wrong Balan, but I assume you identify yourself as being Jewish? No I am not and I would not like to have a religion.

It creates groups of ''we and they !''
