    Back to back clean sheets...

    Both against ‘play-off’ contenders.
Decent performance by the 2 full backs ably chaperoned by AJ and Hegazi, with no heroics. When necessary or in doubt - clear it !
Still not convinced regarding our style of set piece marking though!
Let’s hope Bilic doesn’t repeat his major team changes as last time we played Wigan. They’re fighting for their lives and will give us a run for our money.
Thought Harper did his job quietly.
PS what happened with Charlie who left the pitch petulantly ? Maybe the chant “Charlie Austin....he thinks he’s f****** Bostin” didn’t help !

Did I also notice that Johnstone came out and punched a ball clear or was it just a dream?

We seem to have gone a bit more direct with Robinson in the team and get the ball forward a lot quicker, the last 2 games have shown the massive gulf between us and the teams trying to get in the playoffs neither have tried to attack us, just try and contain us which has played into our hands, both full back are good defensively which has helped Hegazi and AJ haven't had much to do but have done what is needed, don't think Billic will make loads of changes for Saturday but use the Newcastle game to give the fringe players a run out.

I agree with this. Focus is primarily promotion...cup not to be a distraction...but to be enjoyed....

With the players on the bench and those that can't get in the squad it will be a strong team that should give Newcastle a good game.

I think Robinson is a better all round player than Diangana at this point in their careers.

We’ve surely got to sign him if possible.

Next season will be very hard in the Premier with an inexperienced squad so we need players like him ready for if we come down again.

We may have to “bounce” like we did in the 2000’s.

The Preston fans gave Robinson a warm welcome / clap pre match and I noticed after the final whistle he went over to them and applauded. Good to see.

The chant is WE think he's f@ckin' bostin', not he thinks he's f@ckin' bostin'. His stomping down the tunnel will have more to do with a lack of recent game time allied to both Krovinovic and Grosicki shooting rather than squaring the ball to him for a scoring opportunity when he was better positioned. Either way it's a squad game, we're in a rich vein of form and scoring across the team. Dropping a division and finding himself behind an in the form of his life HRK must be a shock to his system.
