Ach, I’d had a few.
Although I was speaking to a yank last night.
Him and his Irish mate have just opened a new bar round the corner from me.
They are a good pair of lads so I try to lend my support by going in for a couple of beers.
Usually I get blethering and end up staying a fair bit longer.
Anyway, I knew he had been in the army so I asked hm why ( it’s beyond me why anyone would do this)
Reasons were
1/ they paid him through college ( ok, thats a reason)
2/ you get to shoot things 🤪
Apparently, what 17 year old lad would pass up the opportunity to shoot things.

My missus who's a tank, if we're watching a cop show or the like on TV, she'll be commenting on the various guns they're using in the various situations.
