    Nothing major to report.

Thought to two lads Dan Armstrong and Willie Gibson spoke really well plus the manager dealt with any questions that came his way. The Chairman also put a few stories that surrounded Gary Naysmith’s “sacking” to bed when ask by a Travel Club committee member.

He wasn’t sacked , he was simply told they wouldn’t be renewing his contract. Naysmith was offered a new deal in January but turned it down because he thought he could get a bigger and better club.

Johnston was brutally honest when asked about Semple saying that he had been brought back through the recommendations of the senior players, naming Dobbie, but was not in good condition come the start of the season and although still not fully in peak condition he is now in a position to start games. He said the same of Leighfield saying that his poor condition after the close season was the reason, in his opinion that he suffered an early injury, but he is now in a position to fight for the number 1 spot. Other than those revelations he tends to agree with any opinion put to him and that the players are frightened to fully express themselves because of the league position and he is as frustrated as the supporters with them not playing to their potential but isn't that his job to lift them. He said that the next five games will determine the clubs future in the Championship and is busy getting that point across to the players saying that they too are hurting as much as the supporters even if they do not always show that emotionally on the pitch. Questions were asked about a natural leader on the pitch that can cajole the players and he acknowledged that perhaps Dobbie cannot properly motivate from the forward position but did not suggest anyone except Osman who he revealed is probably out for the next two to fours weeks due to tweaking a ligament behind his knee. Murray has tendonitis due to the amount of game he has played so will need to be carefully managed.
As previously said both Dan Armstrong and Willie Gibson came across exceptionally well and showed up the poor presentational abilities of the Chairman who to his credit acknowledge these limitations. The poor PR of the club was also recognised and they are looking to improve on that aspect utilising the social media strengths of both Danny and Willie.

That's exactly what I posted on here last year. Naysmith had stalled on another contract when Queens had their purple patch , but was very interested in it when our results went downhill , only to find the offer wasnt there anymore. Stick or twist its the gamble you take.

    Good review.
Anything mentioned about if we were to drop down a league, remaining full time ?

Anything said about the chairmans future ?

If anyone spoiled the Doonhamers Travel Clubs end of season dance it was Gary Naysmith who decided to tell everyone his contract wasn’t being renewed on the Saturday night rather than wait until the Sunday morning as was agreed.
The Chairman also confirmed AJ wasn’t contacted about the possibility of taking over from Gary until after the decision. AJ also confirmed this.

Just to confirm all those stories posted on here about a possible takeover bid by other local businessmen are indeed false.

Many thanks for the excellent summary Spike. I’ve always had a lot of time for young Dan Armstrong who also spoke superbly at last years AGM and I think the appointment of Willie Gibson is a great move for the club and the reserves. He will no doubt pick up the best of our local talent.
