Looking back, our business in January looks to have been poor.
    Bingham = meh
Powers = really bad today, jurys out on him
Glass = what was the point bringing him back.

Letting stanton go doesn't look to have been a smart move.

We're stumbling to the finish line.

Glass drove at their defence when he came on, should have been on sooner, if not from the start. McMullen should have started, simple as that. We hardly had any balls into the box in the first half, lots after McMullen came on (but the game was already lost by then). Again, more baffling selection/sub decisions from Robbie, and to be honest, I’m starting to lose patience with his stubbornness, and failure to learn from mistakes!! Even hospo at EEP, failed to numb that shocking performance!!!
Fantastic Utd crowd, filled 90% of that stand behind the goal, and each one deserved better than what was served. We’ll see what’s served up on Tuesday, only consolation today, was we lost to a team who’s not a direct challenger, but if we start doing that, then the alarm bells will start ringing!!!

it was poor, thats a FACT as GB would say. We've been screaming for width and creativity especially on the left but we've failed to ever get that. Not signing Nesbit was disappointing too. Especially with Sow being pish/always injured and of course Clark being out for the remainder. We weakened the team losing Stanton and bringing in Powers IMO

Our approach to games is generally far too slow. We insist on a deliberate build up which simply gives the other team time to organise themselves. It doesn't matter who we play, from whatever league, it's the same old story, we give the other team far too much time to counteract us. The more we build up towards the opponent's goal, the harder we make it for ourselves. We simply compress the opposition into an organised defensive unit.

How many other teams practice our sideways pish? None! We are the worst in the league for it and by far. If it was a successful tactic other teams would copy it.

Oh' and our off the ball play is dreadful compared with other teams. Other teams seek to plug the gaps and close us down quickly. On the other hand we are often too pedestrian, waiting to get the ball back, or see what happens before we react. We leave spaces all over the place. Other teams are more direct and play through our gaps....gaps that they leave far less for us to exploit. Also we need players who can turn a defence. Look at the difference McMullan made yesterday, but too little too late to save the day. Our main approach is to try and play through defences....after giving them s***loads of time to organise themselves. The right back from Cowdenbeath can be just as effective as the right back from Celtic in a decreasing area increasingly populated with players. First and foremost our players are needing to learn how to play off the ball so that they know what to do on the ball. They need to learn the high value of space, how to create it and how to close it down.

And Powers style of play in particular plays right into those particular hands. Yesterday showed again that if Butcher doesn’t start then we’re struggling. Simple as.

The way things are going there will be virtually no celebrations for getting out this league. Results wise at home we went off the rails at the Christmas derby and apart from Hibs and ICT standards have slipped even further.

    Home v

    Dundee 1-1
    Hibs 2-2
    Morton 1-1
    Arbroath 0-1
    ICT 2-1

That equals one win out of 5,earlier in the season it would have been 4 wins out of 4.

I am never confident when we go away but we did manage to beat the bottom two,QOTS and Partick but since then its been,

    Hibs 4-2
    Alloa 0-0
    Pars 2-0

Its hardly title winning form and its safe to say that more and more fans are turning against the manager. Its unfortunate that we hear very little from Tannadice apart from the sabre-rattling interview's the players are forced to do on Friday and Saturday pre match.
