    a much better performance

stve tried to do something different and it nearly aid of
a great point against an inform team

crowd was great and another sell out

loads of attacking footy over 20 odd shots

give gayle a week or two and maybe get judas back in to help him out a little

i must admit gayle did looka little on the podgy side and slow but at least we had a body in the box

no goals scored but non conceded as well whilst still going for the win

    great team effort

hardly a glowing response to the horror show the week before ffs.
the performance couldnt be worse than that

there are still huge issues with the team, most of all, benching our biggest attacking threat so the 40m flop can be useless out wide rather than through the middle.

Other than a long range effort from Ritchie, we didnt look like scoring and that has been an issue for the entire season. Many of the goals we have got have come from defenders and set pieces so your analysis of Gayle looking podgey as a possible reason why we didnt score is fruitless.

We are in a relegation fight AGAIN!

Steve has had time to get the Rafa out of the lads and its showing big time.
West Brom will field a hugely weakend side against us to concentrate on winning the league and im not convinced we can win against a second string from the second tier

i dont know if you follow the team
but maxim was rested as he tweaked his hamstring in training

better to rest him than ruin him
we aint in a relegation fight
some may hope we are but we aint

    not saying we are great

Rfa had several seasons to improve the team
    and didnt
    bruce deserves the same patience

and yu are right he is taking the Rafa out the lads
which is probabaly why we are so attacking ,if not scoring
but these are Rafas players ,not bruces

Bruce will be told to put out a weak team against West Brom now that we have been dragged back into relagation fight.

I disagree that it was 'much' better. I'll go with what Shearer said and say that it wasn't as bad as we've been recently. The shots on target were piss poor in the main. I was listening to one pundit on 5Live and he said of Gayle 'give him a chance and he'll score'...well that's just bollocks. Give him several chances and he might score one in every six or seven chances, the others will be weakly hit and either straight at the 'keeper or over the bar.

And if Saint Maximin did tweak his hamstring in training then he had no business even being on the bench, Bruce has done this before and brought players back before they're ready and got them injured again. If he's come through unscathed then it's by pure luck rather than good judgement.

i was there and believe me it was much better
    not great but much better
but at least he had the balls to try something different

i think it was great man mangement keeping him on the bench to start

if he had started him and it had gone he would have been forced into making a change
as it was he could give him a small run out when they were getting tired and werent running as much as they were at the start ie managing the game

you are right about gayle he does need loads of chances
and yesterday he was getting them

    20 odd shots we had
    hit thepost etc

    positive
