Seeing Johnny Russell in the courier today has got me thinking, or maybe dreaming

The MLS has a short season and players often come and play for teams in Europe in the winter months when no matches are on.

When we are back in the Prem maybe we could see if Johnny could play the part of our returning legend and come home to Tannadice for a few months.

This kind of arrangement worked well for the likes of Henry and Lampard etc.

Why not bring back a hero for a few months - would give us a major boost in first season back in top flight

We seem to have really good links with US. Obviously this is through owners but we must have other football contacts there with signing Harkes and Powers, sending over Stanton.

Would be great if something could be done 🤞

With this current ownership I could imagine a few interesting signings in the summer and next season

He’d still be on his Kansas City wage - I think in MLS they have some salary caps so it might not be that much.

It would just be somewhere he likes where he could play for a month or two in the off season

Johnny is a designated player (which allows teams to pay more than the salary cap). He currently earns $1.7M / year.
