Despite being labeled a negative fecker, i actually think there is enough points in the bag to say by the last day, joab done! But i just cannot accept the league is won yet as the maths say different. All we have secured in this league so far is 6 place, and when other teams have games in hand and we have head to heads against those closest rivals, you cannot say the league is won.
Had we bettered the home draws v Dundee and Morton, the defeat to Arbroath and Dunfermline, that would be the 10 extra points to really sit back and look at Tuesday night to win the league without kicking a ball, or by a draw away at Morton!
I'd play the kids, you might drop points but were dropping points anyway
Nobody wants to win the Championship this year. All the teams including Dundee United are accruing points to stave off the threat of relegation. United's place in the Championship is now assured, the problem is we have accrued far too many points that we can't throw them away in sufficient abundance to avoid promotion, as other teams are wise to our motives and are doing likewise.
Get the league won.....then play the kids.
Yip....but putting our younger players on to experience the boos and frustrations from the fans won't help. We will win the league...its gonna take longer than hoped but we will win it. Then we can look at blooding the youngsters. Sticking the kids on now would be lambs to the slaughter! I agree completely though with dropping some of our undroppable players completely out the squad. Too many players are complacent and need a rocket up their hoops! The team and management look like they need a clear the air meeting with a few home truths being told...and that includes the management getting telt!
The original question was aimed at the guys on here, who believe the league is won. Would they be happy to play the youngsters from now in their belief we can't get caught. If they are not wanting to play the kids, then perhaps they're not too sure the league is won. As stated, until mathematically a sure thing, I would be selective in choosing the kids.
