I am not a regular poster but follow the forum near every day, I do however want to say that we have been IMO very harsh on Peter Pawlett of late, I do agree that his performances have not been good recently but IMO that could be said of 90% of the team. if we look back to earlier in the season and take the Dundee game at Tannadice as an example his corner brought the first goal, his free kick brought the 2nd, his skill and turn and subsequent pass to McMullen brought the penalty for the 3rd, his corner brought the 4th, his free kick headed out to Harkes brought the 5th and his attempted pass to McMullen which was deflected over Dundee's defence got louie on his way to pass to Cammy Smith for the 6th, all in all a great nights work well deserved. Shortly after that his njuries came which I totally agree he has not fully put behind him yet, BUT I am convinced there is a good player still there and I for one am not disappointed when he is selected over what we have on the bench at the moment, that said a bit about my age, my favourite all time player was Ian Mitchell superb inside left, recent past was Paul Sturrock deserved far more Scotland caps than he got and currently well nobody really. Thank you.
A good game vs Dundee seven months ago isn't enough to merit a continued run in the team when you're pish I'm afraid.
The point I am making is that I dont think he is P***, I think his past injuries have a lot to do with his current fitness and confidence and hopefully if he can get up to speed sooner rather than later he will make an impact again.
Sorry Tomb but I think he’s rotten
Will always try & support any player on the pitch for utd but apart from a few fleeting moments he has contributed next to nothing I am afraid. If it is due to injury then he should be nowhere near the first team. However i sadly suspect that whatever he might have once had is gone. Probably forever.
I appreciate all the feedback so far, but I still have faith in him coming good, but as you point out if we get the championship won soon he may be one who will be dropped in favour of giving youth their chance.
