The National League may need up to £20m of government money to help survive the impact of the coronavirus outbreak, according to Dagenham managing director Steve Thompson.
Many non-league football clubs are struggling to cope with the financial impact of the enforced break.
“There needs to be a concentrated effort,” said Thompson.
“I don't think we can expect a bailout from the Premier League or FA, so it needs to be government led.”
Why is this the government's problem?
Football needs to sort itself out. Ridiculous overspending at all levels.
I see Pogba offered to match up to £27,000 towards the coronavirus cause on his 27th birthday - that's big of him.
How much has he 'stolen' from the game this season?
    £300,000 a week, and he's hardly kicked a ball.
Him & Gareth Bale could sort this out between them just with their wages from now until they next kick a ball in anger.

That's where we're at unfortunately. It hits home just how ridiculously overpaid footballers are and the difference between life in the premier league and non league
