As for the far left in British politics they are still bleating on about Brexit and how we are all going to die because we left the EU and can’t cope on our own with the Coronavirus pandemic. They drink daily from a well of negativity and they just can’t stop themselves.

I reside in the realms of the "British/global far left" outwood and you know I love you dearly, but you are talking utter hogwash my mate.

We in the far left, have always thought the EU to be a neoliberal, capitalist project. Now the chickens have come home to roost we can see exactly what an impotent, selfish, bureaucratic organisation it was all along. Xenophobia will always rule. OK?

Pains me to admit it, but my good friend and political adversary BT is correct. The hard left, the far left, have always seen the EU for the scam it really is.

    Michael Foot.

"There used to be a strong current of leftwing Euroscepticism in the UK, peaking with Michael Foot's commitment to leave the EEC. Trade unions and grassroots Labour supporters once rightly disliked the removal of power from the people – a route, as they saw it, to introduce capitalist policies without consent."

"17.01.2019 – Arthur Scargill’s statement on Jeremy Corbyn’s betrayal of Brexit.

“Jeremy Corbyn’s statement that any discussions with the government will only take place provided that ‘no deal’ is taken off the table is not only deplorable but an act of betrayal of both socialist principle and a betrayal of the democratic vote of the British people and the 60 per cent of Labour constituencies who voted to leave the European Union including its corrupt Customs Union, it’s rigged Single Market and it’s unacceptable Free Movement of workers and Capital. His appalling abandonment of his previous position would have been condemned by the late Tony Benn; Michael Foot and is condemned by me who for over 40 years regarded him as a comrade and friend. No More.” (Arthur Scargill)"

    Tony Benn.

"When asked his own thoughts about the European Union, Tony Benn did not do what most contemporary Labour Party personalities do today, Benn was very honest open and articulate. Instead of falsely trying to state or justify the virtues that an undemocratic EU allow the UK. He would make no bones about the undemocratic EU. Tony Benn was very clear that the left-wing case against the European Union was about democracy, democracy democracy or more so the loss of democracy. In the UK we can remove Governments, change the direction of policy, change laws, demand new laws and rights within our own government but under the EU our very democracy has become eroded, our rights are not determined by the people but by a distant Brussels with no concern other than the bottom line for it’s globalised masters and the Banks that run the institute that is the EU."

The late Bob Crow, god rest his soul, was also crystal clear on the EU.

"Social EU legislation, which supposedly leads to better working conditions, has not saved one job and is riddled with opt-outs for employers to largely ignore any perceived benefits they may bring to workers. But it is making zero-hour contracts and agency-working the norm while undermining collective bargaining and full-time, secure employment. Meanwhile, 10,000 manufacturing jobs in the East Midlands still hang in the balance because EU law demanded that the crucial Thameslink contract go to Siemens in Germany rather than Bombardier in Derby. Today, unemployment in the eurozone is at a record 12%. In the countries hit hardest by the "troika" of banks and bureaucrats, youth unemployment tops 60% and the millions of personal tragedies of lost homes, jobs, pensions and services are testament to the sick joke of "social Europe". The raft of EU treaties are, as Tony Benn once said, nothing more than a cast-iron manifesto for capitalism that demands the chaos of the complete free movement of capital, goods, services and labour. It is clear that Greece, Spain, Cyprus and the rest need investment, not more austerity and savage cuts to essential public services, but, locked in the eurozone, the only option left is exactly that. What's more, the EU sees the current crisis as an opportunity to speed up its privatisation drive. Mass unemployment and economic decline is a price worth paying in order to impose structural adjustment in favour of monopoly capitalism. In Britain and across the EU, healthcare, education and every other public service face the same business model of privatisation and fragmentation. Indeed, the clause in the Health and Social Care Act demanding privatisation of every aspect of our NHS was defended by the Lib Dems on the basis of EU competition law. But governments do not have to carry out such EU policies: they could carry out measures on behalf of those who elect them. That means having democratic control over capital flows, our borders and the future of our economy for the benefit of everyone. The only rational course to take is to leave the EU so that elected governments regain the democratic power to decide matters on behalf of the people they serve."

No probs BT, I can never quite work out why any lefty would turn their backs on the likes of the above and go and sit with Cameron, Osborne, Clarke, Heseltine, Major, Blair, Carney, the CBI, the big banks, the IMF, the Judiciary, the Civil Service, the Establishment etc, but on Brexit millions of them did. Quite bizarre.

Ah, you are on to us!

We are not even allowed to hold our secret meetings any more.

    The game is up.

Every countries drawbridges will have to be raised. Dissenters will be publicly displayed hanging from lamp posts strung up with piano wire. Those suspected of being internationalists will have a big red "R" stamped on their foreheads.
Ducking stools will make a return for those unwilling, or unable, to give praise to our Leader Boris, or not know the words of "Jerusalem".
Our military will be ramped up in case Johnny Foreigner will not sell us Edam cheese, Prosecco or Belgium chocolate at a decent price or fail to give us a reasonable score in the Eurovision Song Contest. We will lob bombs on them and take the stuff by force.
Foreign travel will be banned, except to America or by our military.
And every European country will behave exactly the same. But they will be doomed. They do not have a Boris, Priti or Dominic to succeed.
We will Make Britain Great Again and we will crush the other nations beneath our feet.
i realise now that co-operating with other countries (apart from America and China) is sooo 1990's.
Sh1te food and isolation is a small price to pay.
