Same in the UK. Whoever wins the most seats has never had more than half of the votes (a real majority). Often they get 30 odd % but still have a working majority. The system needs changing IMO.

IMO for way too long the tail has been wagging the dog...........
What you are saying then is porportional voting?

Correct me if I'm wrong. Didn't we have in effect a proportional parliament last time, by the fact one party didn't have full control?
    Wasn't that wonderful?
Couldn't decide its arse from its elbow and dragged the country along by the testicles, as no one could get anything voted through.
Whether the Tories or Labour were in at the moment, at least we have a decision when its voted on.
You either like it or hate it and decide at the next election.

After 3 years of ****e by blocking idiots, I hope I don't see that again in my life time.

If and when a population wants a leader/government removed, it will do so at a ballot box.

So in light of the current climate, who do you believe should/could be doing a better job in the US and here?

Did the public support any of your suggestions?
You do write some tripe, Tricky.

You’ve...’noticed I have a great dislike for elected leaders and seem to want them removed/punished at will’, have you...and where exactly have you noticed that?

I can think of just two ‘elected leaders’ I’ve criticised. One is Johnson, who I am opposed to because of what he represents...not because he is an elected leader. It’s early days for him as PM, and he’s ‘arrived’ at a desperately difficult time, but so far I am singularly unimpressed.
The other is Trump...again I don’t like him because of what he is - a racist, ***ist bigot who knows the cost of everything and the value of nothing imo - again not because he is an elected leader. Having said that, as a leader, to suggest that the consequences of this pandemic will be largely done by Easter is just irresponsible and delusional nonsense...and that’s not just my opinion!

The question of who would be doing a ‘better job’...than Trump at least...is, again imo, just about anyone. The point is...listen to the qualified specialists and experts not those who specialise in the repetition of their own narcissistic political mantra.

Criticising Johnson and Trump does not equate to a ‘great dislike of elected leaders’ and where the hell ‘punished at will’ comes from I have no idea...just complete nonsense.

Only if you believe that more than 465 UK cyclists have been in fatal collision with a bus in the last three weeks. I don’t!

Yes but the stupid ****s vote for him, but then again the so called "ordinary man" tends to votes for authoritatrain right wing leaders who promise simple solutions to complex problems, which is how Hitler got elected in the first place.. wonder how many "good" Germans who voted for him because they wanted a change were feeling guilty later on when it got nasty?

No but other respiratory diseases have killed at least a couple of thousand people in the UK in the last week with no mention on the news!

I’m sure you’re right Swale, and I’m not belittling such horrible conditions as emphysema, lung cancer and asbestosis.

The difference surely is though that they aren’t highly contagious and spreading rapidly throughout the World.

Apparently the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company who own the the ExCel centre in London are charging the NHS £2-3m per month rental for the new Nightingale Hospital site!

In the meantime a 92 year old woman in Oldham has been robbed of everything by two scammers who knocked on her door to say that her neighbour had died of Covid-19 and, as a result, her own house needed a ‘deep clean’. They offered to complete the ‘clean’ themselves and used the time to steal all her belongings.

It seems ‘villains’ or maybe just ‘scum’ take all sorts of varied forms. Where’s karma when you want it...again?
