Have just read on the BBC News website that The National League, and The two National regional leagues will continue to a conclusion as quickly as possible.

When though? 2021? They need to bow to the inevitable and stop now so clubs can plan for the future.

All football in England below the three divisions that make up the National League will end immediately and all results will be expunged.

It means there will be no promotion or relegation in these divisions.

The same will happen in the women's game below the Women's Super League and Championship level.

However, the National League, National League North and South, WSL and Women's Championship will continue towards a conclusion "as quickly as possible".

"These are challenging circumstances for English football and all decisions taken are in the best interests of the game," said a Football Association statement.

"Our primary concern will always be for the safety and welfare of clubs, players, staff, officials, volunteers and supporters during this unprecedented time.

"Today's steps take into account the financial impact during this uncertain period, whilst considering the fairest method on how the sporting outcomes for the season will be decided, with the integrity of the leagues in mind."

The decision applies to steps three to seven in men's non-league football, while all "grassroots" divisions below these tiers have also finished. It has still yet to be decided whether these seasons are to be voided.
In women's football, tiers three to seven have also ended.

When or what is the "future"? Everything is up in the air, how can anybody plan for 2020/21, it might not happen.

Well if it does happen I'm glad because we deserve a shot at going up but if it doesn't then I guess we'll just have to accept it and thrash everyone next season. Whenever that may be ha ha.

At least they seem determined to finish the season so it's back in our own hands yes everything is up in the air but lets finish this season whenever that may be and worry about the next one later.

There will be windows in-between the waves of infections, whether or not we'll have a window long enough to complete in one go remains to be seen but I hope they have the sense to re-schedule the FA Trophy semi-finals and final after all of the league and play off games have been concluded.

Sorry but in the scheme of things, I don’t feel that it is that important?

100 agree! The sooner football is just cancelled until all this is over the better. Sick of hearing about it like it’s the end of the world if the season isn’t completed.

Right decision in the end. Null and voiding nearly a whole season of professional football would have been ridiculous.
