    O/T Investing

I think every thread is O/T from now on.

Anyone interested in investments on here? Stocks, Hedges or Commodities? What are your thoughts moving forward?

Some massive dividends out there at the moment, and some fantastic investment opportunities.

Happy to share my thoughts to anyone who is interested, theres no guarantees but some great opportunities.

I’m sort of interested gm_gm. I have some sterling assets in the UK which have built up because I’m loathe to bring money to the US because of the poor exchange rate.

The problem is that most UK investment management companies are unwilling to engage with US based Brits because of the complexities of tax reporting in the US.

I could pretend I’m still UK based - I have a UK address for example - but it’s illegal and I really don’t want to take that risk.

Buying tangible high value assets in the UK is a possibility (property, art, jewelry, classic cars etc) but again risky.

That sounds bad CT, don’t understand US rules, but I’m happy to share my thoughts ( this isn’t advice)

    Where to start....

    Supermarkets and supply chains
All the banks! Some are still 40% down
She’ll,....the mantra “ never sell she’ll” some good gains with 12.5% divs
You’ve all missed the boat on Sirius

Look to all under values that look like sensible increases there’s some companies -40% that may recover in a few years ( massive)

I invested in a certain cruise company that was 80% down it’s will recover, it’s moved up 20%

Not sure Im happy profiteering out of abject misery. This is going to be very expensive for very many business owners who will ultimately pick up the tab to keep people in work. Yet, many will be laid off and loads of companies will go under.

As a nation Id rather we found ways to share the cost. But, true to form, some will profit while others pick up the tab.

This isn’t profiteering you feckin idiot, it’s trying to help people who need to maximise their income.

For clarity you feckin pr1ck, profiteering is where ****3rs charge over the odds for normal prices.

I would love to debate face to face issues with toss pots socialist w@nkers ....let’s organise a get together

    gm_gm,
How long do you reckon before people’s Pension Funds start to recover.
Like plenty of others I took a hit in 2008 and this one is going the same way.

Whatever your motives are for starting such a post it's still highly inappropriate given the rising death toll and worries many people have .

As far as organising a get together is concerned perhaps the current lockdown passed you by .

I've been retired quite some time gm.
I'm enquiring on behalf of a family member.
Will be in touch when I'm feeling a little better.

Ps. I used to enjoy watching Citizen Smith...

Heres an example. Lloyds Bank are up 10%. Hope gms buddies were on it quick enough to make some money.

This is one of the banks the Gov / Taxpayer has wedged up to deliver the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme. The loans are gauranteed to 80% by the taxpaper. Yet, on top of that, the terms & conditions from these nice guys at Lloyds are asking directors to give personal guarantees cover the full amount of borrowing (ok, it a scandal and they may yet be forced to revoked this term - if its changed its happened in the last few hours).

Rest assured there are people out there more interested in their share price than the greater good of the country. Enjoy your bunce guys while others pay to resolve the crisis.
