    Ah subbuteo, used to have a league with my mates when I was a ****ager, still have the football set and rugby set somewhere in the loft.
    I was in a similar league between about 10-13 too. Even sad enough to ‘design’ and paint my own kit with Humbrol (?) paints.

    Also enjoyed playing it with my own kids, buying the oldest a new set, complete with the floodlights that I never had, was like buying my own Christmas present!

    Grandchildren are a different matter though in my experience. Having set up an admittedly unlikely battle between Derby (1989 kit) and England (1990) they just looked at me piteously as if to say, ‘and you and my Dad actually used to think this was fun...really?’

    I also indulge in football manager, funnily enough Derby have won the premier league twice, the FA cup three times and reached the Champions league final. I think Fst are in league 1!
