No, to make it easy and transparent, the horses will be allocated based on order of registering, so navypie gets number 1, Pies4U number 2 and so on (you get number 14, Talkischeap).

If for example 25 people have a go, the first 15 to sign up will get a second horse

A small suggestion Grand Poobah, but wouldn't it be fairer for any horses not allocated to be declared non-runners for the point of this race ie if number 40 horse wins (without an owner) then you disqualify it and move onto 2nd or even 3rd to find an owner....just a suggestion.

ps what time is my virtual coach arriving? are we all going to practise "social distancing" on the day as I can use that as an excuse to ignore Fatboy? is there virtual alcohol involved as it is now banned in Mexico (actually, not virtually) and I want to get wasted once I win?.....thanking you in advance

I think it would be a bit odd if the 'winner' finished 5th, so I'll let those who joined earliest have a second go.

Probably no use to you, but it's being shown on ITV1 at 5pm on Saturday. The bookies are actually offering odds on it, and will be donating all profits to NHS charities. It's generated using CGI technology and special algorithms among other things. It's been done before the real race for the last 3 years, and has managed to come up with 2nd, 1st and 3rd, which is pretty impressive. Have a virtual tequila on me.

So I get a free 2nd horse if not more than 5 new people register before Saturday?......cool......please can we all stop bumping this thread to the top.....39 and 40 look ok, but most of the other 30s are donkeys according to the betting odds.
