After all the false dawns it's hard to get excited - it's the hope that kills you.

Well, aye....that's hard to argue with.

I hesitated before posting because we've all been here so many times before.

I think that in the past it's all been rumour and counter-rumour mixed in with blind optimism and hope and as those hopes have been dashed, they've been replaced by cynicism and, frankly, disbelief.

From what we 'know' now, the bid is real or, rather, their intent to bid is real. It looks like we are closer than ever before but, as we all know, it doesn't matter how real their intent is or how realistic their bid is...it comes down to whether fatso is ready to sell.

Up until, now, he's just done what he always does-lie. No matter how many times he says the club is for sale, we know it's not-as has been proven. Now, though? Well now things are quite a bit different. With the way the economy is heading-and the way his shares in particuar are heading-he might just have been shifted from his preferred position (us as a cheap-to-run cashpoint) into one where he decides he needs the immediate injection of capital more than he needs the longer term stream of income we generate for him.

We knew he was so entrenched in his position that it would take a seismic shift to get him to sell...welll these are extraordinary times and you just never know.

If he doesn't sell this time he never will and will die owning the club. The way I see it is owning the club has always helped Shėte Direct. Now it is going to keep him in the spotlight regards Shėte Direct and after his behaviour of the last week that is the last place he wants to be.
If that tatty empire has any chance of riding this out he needs to sell the club and keep a low profile. Before his behaviour it was just us fans pissed off with him, now its a nation, and that nation couldn't care less what he did here. He is finished and if it was anyone else but George Caulkin writing the piece I would have called bullshėt.

Yep, me too. That it's not one of Bishop's nasty little PR schemes makes me feel a lot happier about it.

Not joining the queue for Fenwick's window just yet.

    Not least because it's closed.

    We've all been here before...but I can't help but hope...if it's true I think there'll be quite an increase in "isolation drinking!"😂

I don't usually believe all this bull**** But when George talks i listen. He always kept quiet on other take over stories and said he wouldn't get involved unless he had concrete proof... I wouldn't be surprised if he's been told something but hes not allowed to release that info.

Then again it could all be a pile of ****e who knows.
