Doncaster Rovers players and staff have been put on furlough leave, because of the Coronavirus pandemic. The club say 100% of wages will be paid for 'as long as possible'.

This must have hit Chien hard.
He must have blown all his fortune if he needs the government to help him out.
    Should be means tested.
This next transfer window should be interesting if he insists on balancing the books.
Don't suppose he'll have any money left to buy Scottish clubs now.

Dog's key worker at Oakwell, Dane, of D&M Football Consultants, has his eye on this.

The best result for Dog would be to furlough the entire playing and non playing staff so the Govt ( the taxpayer who will pick up the eventual bill) pay 80% of everybody's wages, then get the players to "defer" 20% of their wages (they get the money paid back later) and use this to top up the wages to 100% of the non-playing staff to appear very generous to them. When the time comes to pay back the players sell a key player to cover the cost and replace with a cheaper incomer. Result.

That Gordon Taylor's a piece of work.
Average little winger still picking up £2m salary in his mid 70's.
