Anyone now starting to get a sense of why I got so p*ssed off with the 'Investment' thread last week - quote "Some massive dividends out there at the moment, and some fantastic investment opportunities."

Its the taxpayer who will be footing the bill for this - just like 2008. The rich will be preserving their wealth, income and share price and the poor will pay.

From BBC Site: "Nearly a fifth of all small and medium-sized businesses in the UK are unlikely to get the cash they need to survive the next four weeks, in spite of unprecedented government support.

That's according to research from a network of accountants which suggests between 800,000 and a million firms nationwide may soon have to close.

Many firms have told the BBC that banks have refused them emergency loans.

The banks say they are following the rules set out by the government."

He has though the club has still furlonged (not spelt right) it's staff so will the club pay the additional 20% from the savings or does it go back to the chairman/club

The Gov pay 80% of wages paid through paye as at 28th Feb to a max of £2,500. The employer can add to that without penalty. Some employees will only get the 80% amount.

Aye that's why I put the 20%. Can't see many adding to it.

Yes can see why you put 20%. I doubt many will top it up.

We're trying to keep wages to the full amount. Although the furlough scheme has not kicked in yet, but, understand, it will be backdated.

The real problem is going to be the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan. The banks are being tw*ts.
