He probably had a private room in the IC wing anyway. You can't have the man with the briefcase containing our Nuke codes floating around on a general ward can you. Good news anyway irrespective of politics but still opine he has put a very good team together and is obviously in charge. I'm also pleased by the attitude of Starmer. Generally agrees with the Tory strategy on Covid-19 without the inane rantings of Corbyn but quite rightly has stated he will criticise and demand action if Boris slips up. Mind you he can't manage a lot against a huge majority but if I were a Labour man (not a Loony Socialist Lefty) I'd be happy with his appointment and as Citizensidpie says he will not be cowed at the dispatch box by Boris which is good for his image.
No clap from me for the Colossus of Downing Street ........ mine's for the tireless workers who've seemingly got him back on track.

Yep, irrespective of my view that Nandy was a best candidate I can't fault Keir Starmer's handling of Boris' illness or his cautiously constructive overall line on COVID-19. Whatever challenges he will face in the coming months and whatever his weaknesses, he won't be found wanting when it comes to adopting a statesmanlike posture.
I'm very pleased to see Boris is recovering too. It has been said that he had no underlying health conditions but I'm not sure that's strictly true. Unlike 41-year-old Matt Hancock and 53-year-old Chris Whitty who are as lean as butcher's dogs and recovered quickly, I would think that Boris' BMI puts him in the category of being medically 'obese' even though he has lost some weight in recent times. I don't know whether this will have played any part in him suffering far more badly than his two colleagues, but as any doctor will tell you, being overweight doesn't do you any favours when it comes to developing conditions or overcoming them.
There was also a medic on the telly the other day advancing the theory that the amount of infected droplets you ingest can directly affect the severity of the condition, which sounds logical and might also explain the wide variation in the experiences of different people within similar age groups, but the truth is the medical profession are still learning about the illness as they go along.
There's a a medical theory floating around that men in their 50s are particularly prone to complications and death from CV. It also appears that the virus is much more likely to kill men than women due to our different immune systems.
Just going back to Lisa Nandy, she didn't do herself any favours with female voters by saying that anyone who says they are a woman is a woman. It made her look ridiculous to deny biology.
