Great idea for a fred, Thai Pie. Like one or two before me on this fred, I'm using the lockdown to sample CD's from my collection. I keep it playing in the background while I work on a couple of scripts.
Yesterday was a Leonard Cohen 'music to slit your wrists by' day. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Today is Johnny Cash's 'American collection'. Shivers down spine stuff.
Tomorrow will be either Del Shannon (all-time favourite along with Stringbean) or Bowie.
But to address your idea for music from the last 3 years that has found favour, I have to go with Sam Fender. Amazed when I learned this guy was Brit and not Yank. Even more amazed that he's a North Shields lad. I love the Geordies.
Try his song 'Dead Boys' on You Tube. It's about young men committing suicide. What a haunting video. A super song with great lyrics but the CD will be welcomed into my collection this week and no one will touch it apart from me and the packer.

I know. I have three of their albums.

Two albums I would recommend are:
    Nudes - Lucius. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwUeMW1HMVw
Kill or be kind - Samantha Fish

I recently bought an Amazon echo device which entitled me to a 90 day trial subscription to Amazon Music Unlimited(60 million tracks). I listen to something different every day.

I cannot stand all this modern stuff like Showaddywaddy and Shakin' Stevens. If Vera Lynn and Al Bowley were good enough fer me mam and dad it were good enough fer me.

18 Years old, 17 when that video was uploaded. Must admit she certainly has something unique, if not a bit too emo. Yep, I'm in my mid fifties and used the word emo!

Come on Laxton, put the lad back in Laxtonlad.
I like your humour and actually remember the classic Shawoddywaddy moment where he he takes his sunglassess off and hey presto!

But keep on point, find a (good) new song less than three years old!

But you didn't use the word 'lol'. I can't take anyone that uses 'lol' seriously. Thankfully there are not that many that regularly use it, the main culprits being Thicky, SoccerJoe and laddo. At least two of that trio are idiots.

Try a new Canadian band Elephant Stone if you fancy your music with a psychedelic slant....a spin-off from the superb The High Dials!!!
Or the new album from ...And They Will Know Us By The Trail Of The Dead!
