The greatest Motherwell FC moment of my lifetime, bar none. I watched the full re-run of the game on BBC Scotland a few weeks back and it was amazing to see not one failure on that park in Claret and Amber that day. Not one of those players left anything on the park and fought tooth and nail against what was a good Dundee United side and deservedly won.

It's depressing to think though that it was twenty nine years ago now since we last achieved a trophy win and sadly those of us who are spared will more than likely be saying similar in twenty nine years time.

Still, at least we'll have the 30th anniversary to look forward to next year, again if we're spared.

I loved looking back for years for doing it annually now just seems depressing...should be firmly parked until the next proper milestone.

I can't let it go - I was there with my three school - age children, who are now all forty - something and living as far away as New Zealand. Even when we win our next cup, we won't, as a family, be able to re-create the experience of that day. We were cheering and bubbling at the same time. It's something that regularly comes back to me when I'm sitting with my Horlicks and Wee Willie Winkie hat of an evening.
    Here's to the next time!

Jeez - you ever thought of writing a tear-jerking novel? You had me at 'I can't let it go' ...
