Can't disagree with that Lol loads of England caps, was a winner in most of the major competitions at the time and was a household name.
Don't think we'll ever sign anyone like that again even if they are at the end of their carreer
On the basis of running a few names past the wife it's got to be Emlyn Hughes, she new a few of the others I asked her but Emlyn was the stand out one.

Ditto to the late great Emlyn. However, my choice would have been Becchio. Alas, his injury curtailed everything and back he went to Norwich.
We or should I say the Chairman got stung with the loan. He was on £18,000 a week so TS paid half his wage. When he went back injured, Norwich insisted he was injured while playing for us so the loan deal had to been seen out to the season end. TS felt badly stung and that's when he said no more big money was to be spent on any player. Thing is, Blackstock was reputedly on £10,000 a week and what a piss take he made out of TS and the club.
Signing Jody Morris came as probably the biggest surprise to me in my time of watching the Millers.
Primarily as I can't think of any other player where I'd have expected the wage demands (I'd have assumed they could command) to have been so far away from what I assumed we would have been able to pay.
Emlyn probably, yes.
For me at the time it was Robins.
Emlyn has to be No.1
Cheating a bit. Special mention for Archie Gemill and John Mcgovern.
Dave Watson

Got to be Emlyn Hughes OBE.
Won Domestic and European Honours, more than 60 England caps some as Captain.
Struggled first half of his first season in charge then anyone remember the 9 consecutive wins in the February. Those wins sent us to third spot and we eventually finished seventh.
Problem with Crazy Horse he didn’t know when to hang up his boots.
A mention for Ian Porterfield and Tommy Doc.
In terms of long term sustained impact on the club I'm going to go for a free transfer / pittance from Wigan Athletic reserves.
A Mr P Warne
In context of us being an established League 2 club at the time of his signing, Kari Arnason
Gerry Gow was a biggy at the time
