Thread: Johnstone

    Johnstone

The guy’s going to be the firing line now good and proper, for a ‘keeper over 6 foot tall he should dominate his area more.
Something is amiss, he looks muscle bound to me, compared to the likes of say Bruce Grobbelar, Tony Godden ( who were very supple and agile) he his very slow and lethargic.
Maybe he should ditch the tight fitting garment ( I don’t know the proper name) he wears under his shirt, I‘m certain it must restrict you somewhat.

Never rated him and glued to his line as well as the clanger! Have you ever seen a decent drop kick?

Get rid as shocking compared to Foster! I would drive Joe Hart to us over Johnstone!

Sadly compared to other keepers we have had he is very poor, not in the Osborne, Godden, Foster class more like Crichton and Cumbes, shame really.

Any chance we could get Tim Krul from Norwich?

It's often stated that he is a good shot stopper but aren't all 'keepers good shot stoppers, or they should be. What makes a good 'keeper is how he commands his area, his decision making and the confidence that he gives to his defenders. Unfortunately, it is these three facets of his game that let him down. His distribution also leaves a lot to be desired. I don't for one minute think that he is the sole reason why we look to be missing out on automatic promotion but we do probably need to strengthen in this area.

He has no confidence in controlling his area and that makes our defence nervous. The whole spine of our team is basically weak and requires addressing should we go up.
    Keeper, Centre Back, Striker.

Whether we go up or not!

Move O’Shea into to centre and buy a decent right back.
