Yes the system Mellon is playing is not working and the way he is utilising the squad, we are creating nothing and don't look a threat

No one will have expected us to get back into that game today one we went behind

It amazes me that someone with "great contacts" was able to find a worse defender that the 2 we already have and be part of the structure that let our best defender go.

Almost all of our players are not good enough and should be transferred out in the next 2 years but looking at Ashgars record so far I wouldnt bet on him bringing in good replacements for them.

MM can only polish a turd so much. McMullan, Pawlett, C. Smith and Appere aren’t good enough, that was their chance to stake a claim and they couldn’t muster a shot on target between them. Connolly and Edwards as a pairing will never keep a clean sheet at any level, Reynolds isn’t much better either!

He's hardly set the heather on fire no, but I'm unsure why he's getting singled out in a thread about todays game? Our problem is going forward, starting with the two in the middle of the park, your golden boys Harkes & Butcher, to the strikers up top. We have nothing.

I'm not surprised in the slightest by this result. We have been playing rubbish for weeks. the early season optimism has disappeared as far as im aware.

At the start we at least looked a well drilled outfit who was solid and disciplined. Pressed teams well, worked hard and although we maybe lacked the quality going forward, most fans accepted that (esp when shankland wasnt available) but this rubbish we have been watching since the celtic game is miles away from what is expected. I've never been convinced by MM imo. wont he came out with the "we are dundee united" crap i just think it was always going to set himself up for failure with a statement like that.

getting beat to peterhead at home with a fairly strong team? is that what we are all about now?

not good enough. said it before and ill say it again id rather have had RN

Seriously disappointing. Especially in light of recent performances.

Showed up our lack of depth in the squad today.

It's a big downer. We're not out of the competition yet. But Jesus Christ, recent results have been poor.

I get that we're taking a step up in the league and we will struggle in some games. But Peterhead at home in the Betfred? C'mon Micky, we're expecting some overall progress here.

I'm not singling anyone out for today. It's a general concern about the defence, he has made it worse.

That's what's worrying, good players that are good enough imo and looked decent under Neilson against St Mirren (the Scottish Cup) and Hibs along with a few others not looking upto mucj compared to last season, nothing to do with the opposition level going up as today was against a side weaker than they were hosing on at times last season.

My genuine worry is they don't rate MM or think he isn't instilling much confidence or knows what he is doing... Hope not but starting to have my doubts

Big reaction and improvement needed in the next few games.

Well seeing as Butcher is never a midfielder and Connolly is never a fkn footballer therein lies a deep problem within our team......growing up in Whitfield in the 80s I've had my fair share of witnessing folk on the glue.......were/are you one of them?

Worst United team for a long time, selection today was mind boggling , no doubt Mellon will be saying in post interview he's disappointed but they will work hard during the week to take this great club forward, My A***. I for one have lost faith in him as a manager and so have the players IMO, Where is the exciting football he promised, this team wouldn't even win the championship this year, Neilson will be having a chuckle to himself tonight I bet, I'm gutted.
