    That was woeful and sterile.

MM has now had the opportunity to watch from a screen the same us us mere mortals and frankly he didn't make any changes until chasing the game, even then fckked that up.

McNulty does the grand total of less than Clark (but occasionally Clark scores) and shouldn't be playing.
Fuchs legs went as soon as his chase back to get the cross covered but he was spent and continued. The entire midfield not only plays back and laterally, but when they play laterally it is played behind the recipient which speaks volumes of mentality and training methods.

Sorry MM but serving up scheit like that is unacceptable.

Harsh on Fuchs imo. He needs better than Harkes beside him.

The main problem was how we set up. 5 at the back and a holding defensive in Powers.
    So 6 defensive players and a GK = 7
We had nowhere near enough in midfield to link the midfield with attack and it showed throughout the game.

Should have been 442, we looked much better v Hamilton when we did.

The blatant lack of creativity in midfield and no wingers is our achilles heal but we all know that and I can't even see us remedy this when the January window opens so we're stuck with this situation for the rest of the season imo.

The players we have at our disposal aren't just going to suddenly get better and make us more attacking or creative so why would MM change our system now? He has us in his opinion set up in a system that he thinks suits us best with the squad he has.

It is what it is for this season im afraid mate unless we get a good enough player or players in in January or Mochrie comes back and shines.

Hamilton have gained 6 points and 4 goals this week but written off after we beat them as a team we should be beating with ease. Nothing is a given in this league. Its brutal.

    Spot on Stoke
WE actually had 8 defenders - Defenders Reynolds, Connolly, Edwards, Smith, Sporle (they are meant to be wing backs but hardly got over half way line, far less up the wing)
Defensive Midfielders - Fuchs, Powers and Harkes
in a 5-3-2 - this only works if your wing backs make it 3-5-2 and go beyond your forwards to create.

    And another thing
If you have 8 defenders on how on earth does Pittman run a full 32 yards from the half-way line to the edge of of our box and shoot and score without one of these defenders lay a finger on him. If we are priding ourselves on being defensively sound, that is not it!!

Mellon keeps saying "We are Dundee United" Well start playing like Dundee United!!
First shot on target after 85 minutes against flipping Livingston is absolutely not acceptable!!
And we paid £20 to watch that utter garbage!!

Had enough of this manager. This is a really bad premier league, with the exception of Rangers and Hibs this is the worst premier league for a while and we have the players to be doing better but this formation and team selections are absolutely killing us. To have a player of Shanklands abiltiy and not even attempt to play to his strengths is an utter disgrace.

Mellon is killing us im afraid.

    We don't have the players.

We have Harkes,Butcher,Fuchs and Powers who don't/can't/won't play positive passes and ultimately is making a mockery of our star striker.

I wouldn't be surprised if Shankland were to have a word in the managers/chairmans ear about a move in the next window. Its a crying shame how much of the ball he is getting and if the ball does manage to get to him its usually waist height or above. Really feel for him.

This rhetoric from the manager and coaching staff is a disgrace!!

Courts - "A really solid first half display" No crosses into the box, very little attacking play, no shots off target, no shots on target and it is "really solid"

What a load of utter garbage!! I've been following United for 44 years and will not be patronised. Why can't they call it like we see it - Utter Garbage. Not good enough!!

    No cohesion,
    No Strategy
    No passing
    No heart
    No fight

Nothing. Like what the hell do they do in training all week, it is like they have never met each other!!

If we get beat and we have had a go, the keepers made some good saves, and we lose - I'll take that, but please United management and coaching staff don't you dare try and peddle this "Really solid" rubbish, when what we have been watching since September is the same negative, non-football

Totally agree with statement on Shankland.
Neilson and how he left us was a disgrace - but he had McMullan, Appere and Shankland playing and they have gone backwards under Mellon and so we have as a team as well.
Hamilton are now on our tails and relegation beckons if we keep playing this way under this manager!!
