surely has to change it up in midfield, we haven't had one shot on target, created nothing. Why persist on something that isn't working.

The thing is we started well, Jock Broon singing our praises then we give them 5 minutes of pressure then bang......goal from a set piece (we must've conceded the most goals in the lge from corners, free kicks and penalties). Absolute shambles.

Need Reynolds on beside Edwards, Butcher beside Fuchs and Appere beside Shanks! Any two from McNulty, Clark and Harkes to make way!

We all knew what was required in January but the owner said no.None of us really want to be associated with the R word but sorry if your team are incapable of defending set pieces and have no threat going forward then we need to accept its inevitable.

The defence is part of the problem, for sure. But we have nothing going forward either. Alan Preston said as much just before the second goal went, he highlighted the fact that we are playing with 3 centre forwards and we can't even manage a shot at goal.

Motherwell could run up a cricket score here if they had a mind to, and there's no reason not to. It's not as though they run the risk of United getting a goal back.

What a fecking joke, I didn't see team sheet but where is Connolly?

Harkes, Clark and McNulty again contributing absolutely zip. The last 2 are simply NOT midfield players, Harkes should grow back the arrogant hair and put his heart into it.

First goal flogged because the man on the goalpost rushed out, missed the ball and didn't back track.
Second the ball given away faster than a hoor spreading covid and no chase to get it back and no-one in charge to take a team booking.

McNulty pulls out of the only loose ball in the well defence, that kinda sums up the commitment this team has to each other.

Anyone else think McNulty bottled that one on one? Need to see it again but to me if he shows he want it it's his.

A few players out there not tackling. That's a worry.

Plus we've been moaning about playing high punts with Connolly and Reynolds in the team but tonight we're playing even more.

Harkes and Clark need hooked at halftime, maybe Robson too - for Mochrie, Powers and Reynolds/Neilson. Would consider Appere later for McNulty.
Have tried to avoid being too critical of general quality of individual players, but no getting away from it - Harkes is awful.

No wonder we are disjointed, when he drops players for under performing the replacement is usually put in a role not suited to him, Mellon to blame 100% for the lack of confidence.
