    This is from the WHO:

"A COVID-19 death is defined for surveillance purposes as a death resulting from a clinically compatible illness in a probable or confirmed COVID-19 case, unless there is a clear alternative cause of death that cannot be related to COVID-19 disease (e.g. hit by the 1B )."

So all countries should be using much the same methodology, although suggestions the likes of China and Russia are hiding the true numbers.

Well, rros has managed to increase official covid deaths from 6181 to 8347 so definitely some politiking going on there. Not doing himself any favours with deeranged by doing that.

How does that help your claims about Sweden? Finland closed internal borders, shut pubs, cafes etc, quarantined international arrivals, all the most obvious measures were taken. They re-opened after 2 months of lockdown.

"We in the world health organisation do not advocate lockdowns as a primary measure for control 🙄 of the virus.

Lockdown also have a disproportionate impact on the most disadvantaged."

But it does seem to be the go to magic bullet for govts.

Like shooting a gold bullet at a werewolf.

This bit, they reopened after 2 months of lockdown is very interesting. When our holidays were cancelled last year we didn't take the money back option and rebooted for 2021. It just does not seem likely that the foreign holiday industry is going to be reopened even in late July. Even if we were prepared to pay for an additional 10 days isolation when we return, we are concerned that there will be no bookings made during the normal booking period and our holiday will be cancelled again. My question is how can Finland be back to normal at the moment?

Finland never relaxed measures they had in place post-lockdown, there is still a ban on non-Finnish people entering the country without good reason, Finns have to quarantine on arrival for 2 weeks, there are some restrictions but none that anyone would really care about. Not sure about sports but life seems good for the Finns. And being stuck in a hotel room for 10 days, at a cost of £1500, being fed crappy food, is a holiday worth that?
