    10 Years ago today

    Anyone for #IrnBru?

On this day 10 years ago, 12th March 2011, my friend Barry Smith led his unbelievable Dundee FC team to its 20th undefeated league match in a row, equalling a record that had stood for 49 years.

A 2-1 home win over Queen of the South at Dens gave The Dee class of 2010-11 legendary status, and they went on to add three more undefeated games for a new stand alone club record of 23 games.

This was all done in the shadow of incredible restriction on being able to bring players in, a fantastic achievement by Barry and the guys.

Thank you to each and every player, member of staff and fan for that amazing Deefiant season, I'll never forget it.

Will always remember that season, some wonderful performances ,and everyone playing for the jersey.
Big rab at the back urging them all, heard big rab a few times shouting at the defence when it was a corner kick....
"Right we are the Dee's ! ,make effing sure this corner is cleared "
And if a player wasn't paying attention, big Rab would shout, "are you effing listening , make sure ifs cleared"
    Fff.......img brilliant !

yip very strange times mate indeed-------what a complete unit everyone was, from the players and management/fans/staff,all shoehorned into a compact unit, given the fire in their belly's from doncaster and crew with their -25pts punishment,a punishment that was intended to kill the club!make no mistake about that.

I think everyone went that extra mile, players finding the clubs heart and not only getting it beating again but thumping like a grand national winner's heart, and every thump pulsating through the terracing's home and away, escalating into unbelievable "lets fuukking have it "attitude from every single person no matter what capacity within dens or on the terraces.

A one complete unit of togetherness with not a hint of apathy or people on one another's backs, unless of course it was a pitch invasion piley on,something that JN's can only dream about at the moment im afraid.

Loved every single second of that season after the point sanction was handed out

Absolutely no doubt the -25 points was intended to finish the club off. But what a GIRFUY the club, players, manager, board and fans gave to that ****ed up haired weirdo.

Although I have no time for Doncaster he cannot be blamed for the 25 point deduction during the Deefiant season.
That was Longmuir and the board of directors of the Scottish Football League.
