    The month of doom

This hasn't been mentioned much on here but having to play a game every 3 days for s month with the small squad we have which rotatates around the same 13-15 players has cost us a place on the championship.

If we was fresher in the body and mind you would like to think we would got more points in the last games.

Man utd have a bigger squad full off internationals and they are kicking off about it

With a late start to the season, a fixed time window to fit in all the games and a global pandemic underway it's hard to think what else could have been done. In essence the leagues were lucky that no crucial games were postponed due to COVID on the last weekend or there would have been no way to fit them in with the 10 day quarantine etc.

I know none of that helps us and we feel hard done by. However, we were the only one of 92 teams to come up against this. Maybe we were too honest or too lapsed with regards COVID infections? Or maybe we were just unlucky?

We had the same size squad as everyone else in the Championship, 25 players, maybe not as good as other squads but that's not their fault, it was ours.............

Home form cost us. It's certainly a factor having to play so many games in a short period of time but not the only one. Capitulation against teams like Wycombe, Coventry and Birmingham was also our downfall.

Something was wrong with our Covid management.
It happened twice and at many clubs it didn't happen at all

After all the bad cards we were dealt and poor performances at home, and there were many, we still had many chances to save ourselves.
Millwall away, Hudds away, Barnsley away and getting that second goal at Cardiff. There,s eight points there just in those games.
Although it didn't help, Relegation wasn't down to fixture congestion

Yes, I wonder what the issues were and why more questions haven't been asked about why we had far greater problems than anyone else?
Paul Warne said we had 19 people affected at one time so you have to wonder how that could have happened if we had proper protocols in place.

I disagree the fixture pile up was big part off it.

If we had enough rest etc etc than a loss could been a draw or even a win.

I'm also of the opinion that the fixture congestion was absolutely a contributing factor.

Our end to the season was Milwall followed by 2 days off, Wycombe, 4 days off, Huddersfield, 2 days off, QPR, 1 day off, Coventry, 2 days off, Birmingham, 2 days off, Boro, 2 days off, Barnsley, 2 days off, Brentford, 3 days off, Blackburn, 2 days off, Luton, 3 days off followed by Cardiff.

To play that many games with so little time in between is so difficult. The lads need recovery time, they need injury treatment, they need time to analyse the previous performance, they need time to train, they need to work on the tactical plan for the next match, they need time to scout the opposition.

To suggest that the fixture congestion didn't contribute to our relegation is ludicrous.

Don't think anyone is saying it didn't contribute, just that there were many other factors.

The playoffs should have been cancelled this season with the top three going up..
The National league are still playing right up until next Saturday.
Considering it was a late start there was no contingency for postponement s.

Another example of poor management and foresight from the football authorities. Money comes first
