James Hunt
James Hunt made his debut in the 3rd tier under Colin Murphy.
Mick Galloway is the 2nd youngest man to have played for Notts in the 2nd tier, born October 1974.
did Ian Ridgway play in 2nd tier
Pennant was given his debut by Allardyce in the FL Trophy against Hull and then played at Bramall Lane, you're lucky to have caught sight of him in a Notts shirt. I went to almost every home game that season and didn't get to see him play.
Pedro's son was quite recent.
We should do the oldest living man for each of those categories as well, I'd know two of them but not the oldest 2nd tier player. There must be a fair few still alive from the 1950/51-1957/58 era. Willie Carlin would be oldest surviving 2nd tier player from the 1970s having played against Sunderland on 1st September 1973 and born on 6th October 1940 (three days before John Lennon).
I know Michael Simpson was mentioned earlier but did anyone suggest him for 2nd tier? I'm sure he's a year younger than Michael Johnson?
On a bit of a side note, I had completely forgotten or even never realised Jim Gannon made two appearances for us in the 2nd tier on loan from Stockport.
