Just seen on the RamsTV matchday preview show that Huddersfield have Covid issues. Some 1st team players included but they won't know how many until the tem sheet is handed in 1 hour before kick off......

.... is our luck starting to turn? I bloody well hope so.

I guess we can be satisfied with that, though we do need another striker, Delap anybody?

That's a point off however many the EFL dock us.

    Anyone know the attendence?
For a first game of the season, that was just awful with swathes of empty seats.

No figure reported anywhere that I can find. Having communicated with a few friends who were there I have been told the following:

Technical problems with the barcode scanners which led to them opening the gates and letting through people waving a ticket so they simply don't know how many.

Those who gave an estimate guessed at between 18K and 20K. I had forecast less than 20K.

    Possible reasons?
    1. the ongoing off field issues the club has have turned some/a lot people off
    2. the opening home games of a Rams season tend to be lower than our average due to:
    a) those still playing local cricket
    b) all those away on holiday
    3. some will have simply lost the habit
    4. some won't go until a sale of the club is completed

The gate is exactly what I expected. There will be those who will amuse themselves by mocking us. Let them.

It will be interesting to see how other gates stack up against the usual averages in the EFL.

    5. Ongoing fears relating to Covid and crowds.

I parked at the City Ground on Friday, Tricky. Interesting...like an episode from ‘How we used to Live’...quaint really. Still at least you know who owns the place.

To that you could add lingering covid caution

Cynic me finds the issues of failure of attendance calc, failure of season ticket action and failure of TV feed last week to add up to either cutting corners on IT expertise or dropping off on an IT contract possibly?
