Tamworth PSF Cancelled?

Notts County are confident of finding another team to face in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday after Tamworth announced they had scrapped their clash with the Magpies.

Ian Burchnall's side had been due to face the Lambs in midweek in which midfielder Frank Vincent was due to make his first appearance for the club after signing in the summer.
But Tamworth announced via their Twitter account on Saturday night that the clash was off and did not explain why.

Sources have since told Nottinghamshire Live that Notts only learned the game was off via social media and are now looking for replacement opposition.

That game is now likely to be played behind closed doors rather than be open to the public given the cancellation has happened at short notice.
As well as Vincent, head coach Ian Burchnall had planned to use the game to give more valuable minutes to Adam Chicksen, Jim O'Brien and others.

It comes after Notts were beaten 3-2 by Conference North side York City at Meadow Lane where a late Kurt Willoughby goal secured the victory for the Minstermen.

Callum Roberts and Joel Taylor scored for Notts.
