OK, they probably will do a fair bit better this campaign. Before last season, they hadn't finished in the bottom half at this level since 1986 (when Jimmy Sirrel was still in charge here), but still - a defeat to last season's bottom placed club wouldn't make for good optics.

We've only won the opening game 5 times this century, lost 9 of them (including the since expunged Dover loss) and drawn 7.

With no draw against Barnet in 14 meetings and one very much overdue, I've got to go for 1-1.
