    Just a Question

If you wanted to sign a player outside of the Transfer window could you ask the selling club to cancel or withdraw that players contract and then sign him on a free, but of course the buying club could make a payment to the selling club in the meantime. Just wondered if anyone knows if it is possible?

Anything is possible lancaster100, our erstwhile Chairman managed to legally extract £50 million from our club's bank account to his own sky rocket without so much as a murmur.

It's a nifty little trick to evade the window, but I don't think it's ever been done. If it was possible you'd think it would happen regularly, but it doesn't, so I think there must be some rules and regs which prevent it.

I thought the transfer rules stated that a club can only sign a free agent, when that free agent was without a club before the transfer window closed, but I am not sure of this.

thats as I know it, or as it is - Vingaret....free agents (no club) are outside the loop, are free to go anywhere at anytime....so I guess if teams wanted to work it to that end, there'd be nothing to stop them, other than the questions it might raise...the spotlight it'd turn and the potential retaliation for their effrontery.

    the rules....
