    US Tennis Women's Final

I have no interest whatsoever in watching women play football, but if that is women's tennis, I'll watch it all day and all night. Absolutely stunning, one of the best games of tennis I've ever seen.

To come through the qualifiers and win the US Open. Wow. And to do it without dropping a set. Emma is sensational and truly exceptional.

Another recommendation for BBC Sports Personality of the Year. Wonderful achievement for someone so young. To think she’s up there with the likes of Billie Jean King is amazing.

It would be impossible for the world's best writer of fiction to think this one up.

Not to lose a set on the way to winning a Tennis major is virtually unprecedented, hats off to a magical tennis player.

Her return of service is about the best I have ever seen.

I hope she has the mental fortitude to cope with the pressure of instant fame.

Remember all the criticism she took from some quarters when she had the problem at Wimbledon.
She has obviously learned a lot from that experience because, in the US Open, she has shown great mental strength and she always looked so focussed in all her games.

Absolutely brilliant achievement and what a great pleasure to watch two ****agers slugging it out and giving it their all. Well done ladies for a smashing end to the tournament.

Brilliant performance by Emma BUT she had a pretty easy run to the title. She did not come up against any of the really top players. She is very talented and it is nice to see somebody enjoying herself when playing unlike Murray who seems like he is on the edge of a mental breakdown during matches.
It will be interesting to see Emma against Barty or Halep. It is important that the media do not hype her up too much as it often stifles the players. She seems very even footed but that might change once she gets the non-stop media spotlight.I hope not and congratulations on a magnificent feat which is unlikely to be repeated.

I have always said in any sporting fixture, "You can only play what's in front of you".

I will not diminish what was an incredible performance in New York, by saying the world's best failed to turn up.
