    Jimmy Greaves

As passed - I never saw him play live.

I saw him when I was a lad. He was quite useful! Didn't think much to him as a TV pundit though.

I saw him play several times at The Hawthorns, what a player around the box, just what we need at the moment. RIP Jimmy

I was going to post exactly the same.

Our greatest ever striker with an unbelievable strike rate.

He scored on his debut for every club he played for I believe?

Always came over as a really nice and genuine bloke and to have fought back from being an alcoholic in the gutter speaks volumes about him.

    RIP Jimmy.

It’s a funny old game Saint Peter!

Was lucky enough to see him a lot as I used to not only see him at our place but also many times at White Hart Lane. For me worth the admission money on his own and without doubt the greatest natural English goal scorer I have ever seen. RIP.

Very unlucky not to have been in the world cup winning team. Best finisher ever!

I can still see him running towards the Brummie Road End and giving Osborne the little shimmie and as Ossie dived to his left he calmly placed it to his right putting Spuds 3-1 up. We went on to win 4-3. What a game and what a great finisher.

I remember one incident against the Spuds, Greaves got the ball just inside our half and set out with Chuck Drury in hot pursuit, Jimmy just changed gear and left Chuck for dead.

I recall 4-4 at The Hawthorns Xmas time and Greavsie got a couple I think.

Scored 44 in 50 odd games for England
