    Early break?

Does anybody else get the feeling that the winter break is going to be brought forward? I don't think that the politicians will, now, bring in restrictions before Christmas Day. But reading between the lines, it looks as though they'll move after that. I'm wondering if the Morton cup game will be my next visit to Fir Park.

I don’t know about extending the winter break in any way but I do think there is a distinct possibility of games being forced to be played behind closed doors again in the not too distant future.

They'll try to get to the winter break rather than bringing it forward, I think. If you shut down now there has to be a clear improvement to come back, you then have extra games to fit into a packed schedule - Celtic could potentially go far in the ECL, there's an international break, there's the chance of freezing weather later in winter, the risk of later outbreaks at clubs etc. Playing as scheduled is much simpler, so long as it's safe to do so. I do agree I think fans could be shut out again soon though.

English Premier League just decided to battle on. No winter break down there which may have impacted the decision though in which way I'm not sure.

Would not surprise me if it’s announced that lockdown is back in place starting on Boxing Day

If you let people travel for Xmas announcing lockdown on Boxing Day seems tricky. But if you can make it to FP on the 26th I'd try to enjoy it regardless of the score...

Agreed - Boxing Day 2021 may well be a last look at the fitbaw for a while ... and the sampling of a draft pint !

Enjoy both would be my shout

That’s exactly what they did last year, lockdown was brought in from Boxing Day after allowing families to meet on Christmas Day.

As for BCD, if they do indeed decide to go down that route - and it appears that they well might, the FM is making a statement this afternoon - then fans won’t be back inside stadiums this season I’m afraid.
