    Postponement problems escalating

If our Saturday match at Scunthorpe United is off that will be 4 consecutive postponements, no League Two match between 11th December and 15th January, no home League Two match between 27th November and 15th January.

There are 4 blank Tuesdays in January for nearly all League Two teams. We have a blank Saturday on 8th January. But it could be that some home teams do not want to re-arrange matches to be played in front of zero crowds.

Nevertheless the EFL should insist that matches be arreanged for the first available date. There could be further postponements in January for weather / Covid so let's not get too onerous a schedule for later in the season.

One hopes that at least this year all teams will be affected in equal measure

Last season those Brunton Park matches that were postponed because of the pitch being frozen should have been played. The only part of the pitch that was unplayable was the 20 yards in the shadow of the Warwick Road End roof. We know that there are local companies that hire out boilers and heaters that can solve this problem. We would just need this equipment for 24 hours prior to a vulnerable home match. So last season it was negligence by our best Holdings and 1921 brains.

If our match on Saturday is postponed we will then have 18 weeks to play 25 League Two matches. Clearly this situation can further deteriorate with weather and Covid postponements, also we would like to progress in the Papa John's Trophy. We need to play our postponed matches as soon as possible, even if it is in January with no crowd at the two home matches.
