    Lineker

His response to the suggestion that the national anthem should be played at the end of the night on the BBC is yes let's be less British and more North Korean.

Funny isn't it. Adolf Hitlers legacy lives on in the minds of those who can't differentiate between taking pride in your country and wanting to drive tanks over everyone in a bid to rule the world. Intellectual minnow.

In fairness to Mr. Lineacre GStQ is a bit of a durge. Whilst I can't argue with the potential benefits of it's aiding with sleep I'm not sure it would make my preferred pre sleepy time listening list either.

Much prefer chill out music for that. Wouldn't want to try and get to sleep when filled by national fervour and a heart pumped full of pride etc. He's got a point when you think about it 😉 .

Yeah......let’s be more Woke and less British.

Three years ago in Australia I was amazed at the difference in national pride there compared to here.

I wish I was 20 again because I’d be moving out there like a shot.

My Nan used to stand for the national anthem at the end of the BBC at night, she like her generation had that sense of pride.

Spent over five years in the Forces Mick. I don't need to listen to a durge of a national anthem to tell me who I am or where I'm from. Glad your nan liked it though, each to their own 😊 .

I think that GSTQ is an awful ‘National Anthem’; I think we have had a similar discussion before, I for one, would much prefer ‘Land of Hope and Glory’. I don’t think, though, that I would be standing up for any anthem before I turn in at night! I have never been much of a Royalist either but that is another topic altogether.
