    Post Transfer deadline

Well not the best as usual. Ok for getting the one in with WW. However, we now hear the typical nearly but not near enough. I am sick of hearing excuses, this has been symptamatic during the SD period. We cant blame the owners as this is one of their earliest windows for them. So it looks like SD might be the blocker. Of course if the same happens in the next window then the owners will come under scrutiny. Excuses are not acceptable as there are 30+ days available and we do not start until day 27 or so. Which explains why we fail in our pathetic attempts to get players in. I now look forward to seeing Roberts, Collins, Cornet and Weghorst in straight away as this should give us more energy.

Actually this is their third window, they spent nothing in their first one, a pittance in their second one, and they would have spent nothing in this their third one, if Eddie hadn't taken leave of his senses and thrown £25 million at them. The profit in this window should nicely cancel out their expenditure in summer, which means the total amount our American investors have invested in the playing side in their three windows is precisely £ 0.

I find the idea that this lack of investment is driven by the manager quite bizarre.

What I don’t understand, sinkov, is that other clubs are bringing in players at reasonable cost or on loan, yet we don’t seem able to do anything. No disrespect to WW. I wish him every success. On the positive side, the team is potentially changing with Roberts, Cornet, Collins and WW. Some younger legs. Perhaps McNeil would refind his form to give fresh impetus.

I must have watched McNeil about 40 times live and in the flesh playing for Burnley.

I have not seen him have a proper 90 minutes yet.

In my opinion he is the most overrated player in the first team squad - by a country mile.

McNeil is an enigma, is he not playing in his best position, is he over-rated or has he just lost heart? Answers on a postcard to SD.

As far as I understand it Swiss, we have no money, and you can't spend what you haven't got. It was the Saudi sovereign wealth fund PIF that bought Weghorst, not ALK.

Young English player over valuation, he showed promise, but hasn't stepped up, no progression. Has done a lot of walking back, head down and sulking when its not gone his way this season. Cornet coming has really shown McNeal up, lacking in composure, desire and work rate, lucky for McNeal that is opposite winger is even worst.. I forget he is on the pitch genuinely seems Gudmonsson can go at least 20mins without touching the ball, I think he nips off for a pie.

It's like the old Brian Clough story, he took one of his players out onto the pitch after a game,

'Go on then, where is it ?'
    'Where's what gaffer ?'
    'That hole'
    'What hole ?'
'That hole you've been hiding in for half the effing game'.

I agree, sinkov, about the source of the funds. I am surprised that no one came in for Tarkowski. Another few million would not go amiss.

Assuming that the information is correct, we have £13 million left from the sale Woods. We knew a couple of days ago that Dynamo Zagreb were not selling their player (I read that he had received death threats). I would have thought that £2 or £3 million in loan fees might have been possible.

Anyway, it is history and we move on. I would have preferred to play Watford under Ranieri than under Hodgson. Just our luck. The football gods are cruel.

    You’ve got bad eyes BT.
