Thread: Villa Game

  1. #1

    Villa Game

Looks like we should have options for once as a lot of players should be fit.

    Firpo and Forshaw both ready.

More surprisingly Phillips and Cooper back in training so could be fit by the end of the month.

Apparently, Bamford has hurt his foot in training again with a new injury -UFB!

Could have choice in midfield too with Koch, Forshaw, Klich, Dallas and maybe Bate vying for a place before the words Roberts or Rodrigo are mentioned.

If Joffy isn’t going to start then maybe he will play Rodrigo up too as that is really his position and in our set up he isn’t experienced enough suiting to the 10 role and getting back.

Think the midfield 3 could be Koch, Forshaw and Klich with Dallas playing LB rather than mid.

Think Rodrigo in his best position up front, or Gelhardt. This thing with James as main striker waste of time, at a push Harrison would be better, but it all comes down to lack of squad depth.

I don't remember us (Leeds footymad forum) ever being so arrogant even when we were winning games regularly in League 1. Maybe its the nature of the forum? I don't believe Leeds supporters are quite like this in the WACCOE forum either.

We may have been a bit arrogant with the nucastle game, and look where it got us.

I do wish we weren't catching the so close to a new coach. The new coach syndrome tends to bite us hard.

Little perplexed at how they seem to think they are so good based on the forum link. They are definitely a team that's in the relegation hunt just like us. I think this game acts as a huge springboard for the rest of the season for both teams. A solid win for either probably propels them out of the relegation battle.

FWIW- don't think that NewCastle will be one of the bottom 3. Not just because of the big money. I thought they were a lot better than their record indicated. They played some top teams straight up even with Bruce as their coach. That's an accomplishment.

Villa Park December 2018 created hostilities of late, for sure.

We were two nil down after 20 minutes, pulled two back in five second-half minutes to draw level. First goal by half-time substitute Jack Clarke with a stunning right-foot curler [his first goal for the club] & was followed by a Pontus Jansson header with Roofe scoring the winner in 95 min - the 'Roof' came off in the Doug Ellis NE 'away section' & didn't go down well, Villa fans on pitch taunting Leeds fans, smoke bombs being hurled from our section & Stewards stood powerless as Leeds players joined in with our celebrations.

I suspect a lot of the vitriol comes from the Klichgate game.

They were a horrible cheating, diving team under Smith and Terry. Klich was brilliant in his reaction after the goal almost daring someone to hit him.

Wasn’t Bamford’s finest moment with the shadow punch seemingly flooring him from nowhere.

I suspect is stuck in their throats all the more for Bielsa’s reaction which then won him
    An award.

Quite like the way that they now play under Gerrard and how he speaks - will be a tough game for us as they have a lot of pace up front.
