it's passed the early afternoon inspection-weather forecast not good
With Dover’s current pitch, and the weather so far today
I would be hugely surprised if the game went ahead
I am working 20 miles from Dover and have had rain non stop since 11 am

Have just read that on Twitter this second.
Unless 20 mile down the road they’ve had no rain or a pitch cover has been on all night I find that a little strange
Maybe I know nothing
Is this gong to be a repeat of Fylde two seasons ago, postponed twice due to bad weather/unfit pitch before finally going ahead.
Weather forecast looks to be veering towards lighter rain and clearing towards match time.

MATCH OFF: In lieu of this afternoon’s forecast and based on reports from the earlier pitch inspection, the match referee has postponed this evening’s match. More to follow.

A qualified match official has recently conducted a precautionary pitch inspection and Dover Athletic have informed us their surface has been passed as perfectly playable.1:24 pm · 15 Feb 2022·Twitter Web App

To me looks like the local ref said pitch was good but the match ref perhaps didn't fancy driving down to Dover and finding a waterlogged pitch based on the weather forecast so took the preemptive action maybe? Remember the refs are part time, if he's got a long way to come, he's probably done the decision on reputation rather than the evidence
