The difference with Cuba was that nuclear weapons were already locked and loaded onto ships and on their way to being installed ..... here there is no chance of Ukraine joining NATO any time soon. ... if ever .... as it needs the approval of all NATO members ... and cannot see France or Germany allowing it ... this is all a ruse by Putin to stoke up tensions and provide an excuse to invade ...

Putin’s actions have actually increased the chance of other countries joining Nato.

For me, this is history repeating itself. Germany was rudderless after WW1 much the same as Russia after the Berlin wall. A despotic leader came to power on the back of this, and the west didn't try and engage with them from the start. We have had a series of aggressive actions by Russia, including Salisbury, with no united actions from NATO. Now we have a procession of Western leaders beating a path the Putins door for an audience. He's loving it. Ukraine is Putins Annexation of Sudetenland. We do nothing at our peril

They could run with that as a news headline followed by a story of a very large tumble weed blowing by.

Like or loathe Putin, the facts are that he feels vulnerable from the Ukraine border, and he could have gone in a couple of weeks ago before NATO countries started moving arms into that country. Is he just testing the west to see how far they'll respond, as he might not be so sure that things could drastically change in Belarus over the next few years?

The man is pure evil and has waited for this opportunity for years! Wouldn’t be surprised if they invade Ukraine and move on to former bloc countries! China meanwhile will then take Taiwan! Who or what can stop them?

The whole Ukraine news story is a false flag.......nothing to see there.......oh but wait......with the pandemic easing....governments have to quickly cover the next "lets be fearful of this"
