My daughter (med. student) has been offered a place in Dumfries. She was asking for my opinion but I've never been to that part of Scotland. Anyone got any knowledge of the area?

Nice small town.

May get a bit boring as a student.

Lived there for 2 years recently and really enjoyed it. Plenty of good old fashioned pubs, still quite a as busy town centre & it’s a beautiful part of the country for walks.It is fairly staunch but the Huns are easily avoided.

I take it she’s studying at the Chrichton?
